This week has been a busy one for pupils of Malborough Primary School. After the school linking assembly, where we learnt all about our link school in Kenya, the Evening Standard came to visit us to talk about the link. The reporter interviewed Ms Finer and the school council where some of the children gave their views and opinions on the school, including school dinners and our school building. The photographer then took a photo of some of us in the playground and the article was printed on Wednesday!

The whole school have been thinking about how we can start to get to know the children from Opande Primary School. We talked about artefacts in the assembly and it suggested by some pupils that we could send a uniform from Malborough, photos of our school, story boxes, art work, songs, drawings of ourselves, letters and even to send a picture or a special object for both schools to make a story up about it.

Reception have been making a book in preparation for the link and they made a mind map of ideas on how to get to know pupils from Opande Primary School. The children were full of ideas. Elias said we could make friends with the children bysharing photos of toys. Lorren suggested that we should send some drawings of ourselves and the things that we liked such as Snowmen, Barbies and Princesses. Tanya wants to send the children the rules of some of the games that we play such as noisy letters and Tajim wanted to exchange songs that we have learnt.

The pupils of Malborough are very excited about starting the link and are eagerly awaiting a reply from Opande Primary.
